Why Spring Clean?

Spring-Cleaning isn’t just good for the home, it’s also great for your mental well-being! Decluttering your space can have a positive impact on your mood, focus and productivity. A tidier space will help to reduce stress levels too, as all your belongings are organised and easy to find so you can be much more efficient with your time. Additionally, it’s easier to relax in a tidy home. For example, you may find that your sleep quality improves from being in a clean room. The actual act of cleaning can also be mood-boosting too, as your body releases endorphins with movement which triggers a positive feeling!

Spring-Cleaning Top Tips

Before we get stuck into our 30-Day Spring-Cleaning checklist, let’s cover off the basics! These 5 decluttering tips will help you throughout your Spring-Cleaning mission:

  1. Take one room, area or task at a time.

This is the purpose of our checklist! Don’t overwhelm yourself with taking on your whole home all at once, it’s much easier to stay focused when you break it up into smaller tasks.

  1. Sort as you go

For every area you declutter, have 3 boxes or bags to hand to sort what you find into categories: Donate, keep or repair and bin. If the items don’t fit into a box, then make lists instead!

  1. Ask for help!

If you aren’t the only person in your household, then get everyone involved! You can allocate each person a day or area to be responsible for or have an assistant while you tidy to speed things up!

  1. Choose your cleaning products

Don’t overload yourself with cleaning products! You can clean your home with just a few essential products, so shop smart if you need to buy new products. For example, make sure you have a few cloths, an all-purpose cleaner, bin bags and some rubber gloves. Don’t forget, sometimes just some warm soapy water can do the trick!

  1. Form new habits

Spring-Cleaning is not just about cleaning, use this as an opportunity to form new habits! While you’re tidying and organising, think about how you’re going to maintain this newly decluttered space. Add in storage boxes, baskets and other organisational products that might help keep it clutter-free.
